Peace
All these calls for peace and unity got me thinking about the underlying goal of those words.

Do I want peace and unity? YES. Oh my god. I am so tired of the fight. I envy people who can ignore the news with reckless abandon.
Do I want the Democrats and Republicans to stop bickering and get to work?
NO. NO. NO. That is not what is needed right now.
Abusers often yell at their victims to “be quiet” and to “get used to it”. Americans all over the country are demanding that the abuse of Donald Trump and the Republican Party stop. Our democracy is under attack. Our Capitol was literally attacked.
Peace is accepting our fate as subjects of the Trump tyranny. Peace is ignoring the damage, the suffering, the everything….
I long for peace, but not at the expense of liberty and justice for all.
