The sky is falling

Our democracy is dying and there doesn’t seem to be a desire to heal it. When our state capitols are breached, Governor’s nearly kidnapped, and pundits predict a second acquittal for our former president, things are not okay.
Perhaps we are too big for effective democracy.
Perhaps we are too diverse for effective democracy.
Perhaps effective democracy can not coexist with unchecked attacks.
Perhaps unchecked capitalism is antithetical to our democratic values.
